How to Use the Action Center in Slash

Overview
The Action Center is a centralized queue for anything in Slash that needs your attention—missing receipts, reimbursement requests, onboarding tasks, and more—so you're not hunting across multiple pages to find what's waiting on you.
Before You Start
Make sure you have access to the correct business entity, the permissions needed to view or complete the relevant action, and any supporting information required to make a decision (invoices, receipts, payment details, etc.).
How to Use the Action Center
Opening the Action Center
Sign in to your Slash dashboard, switch to the correct entity if you manage multiple, and open the Action Center from the left side-bar. You'll see a list of actions assigned to you or available for your role:
- Click an item in Pending Actions to open its details, including context like the requester, amount, due date, vendor, or supporting documents.
- Follow the on-screen prompt to approve or reject the action, upload a document, add missing information, or leave a note.
- Once completed, Slash updates the item automatically. Some actions will disappear from your queue and filter to Complete; others will remain with an updated status.
Filtering and Notifications
You can use filters to sort by action type, status, entity, priority, or due date when your queue is long. Handle time-sensitive approvals first, then work through missing-information requests and lower-priority follow-ups.
Slash will notify you when actions need attention based on your notification settings and role. If you're not receiving expected notifications, check your settings and confirm your role includes the relevant permissions.
Permissions
Visible actions are determined by your entity access, team role, and approval permissions. If you're missing an action you expect to see, ask an account admin to review your role.
Troubleshooting
- Action not showing up: Confirm you're on the correct entity and that your role has permission to view it.
- Can't complete an action: You may lack the required permission, or a prior step may still be pending. Contact an admin if needed.
- Action still showing after completion: Refresh the page. Some workflows take a moment to update if additional steps are pending.
- Approved or rejected the wrong item: Open the related record to see if the decision can be reversed. If a payment or account change has already been triggered, contact Slash Support immediately.
