Configuring Notifications
Last updated April 3, 2026
Overview
Every time money moves, a card gets swiped, or someone logs into your account, Slash can notify you. You choose what's worth knowing and how you want to hear about it — by email, push notification, webhook, or any combination of the three.
Where to Find Notification Settings
Notification preferences live in your personal settings, not the entity-level settings page. To get there:
- Click your profile icon or name in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar.
- Select Personal Settings.
- Click Notifications.
From here you can toggle delivery methods on or off for each notification type and configure thresholds where applicable.

Notification Delivery Methods
Slash can notify you in three ways:
- Email: Detailed alerts sent to your registered email address.
- Push notifications: Real-time pings on your phone through the Slash mobile app.
- Webhooks: Send alerts into external tools like Slack or Discord. Available on web only.
You can turn on any combination of these for each notification type. For example, you might want an email and a push notification for purchases, but only a push for login alerts.
What You Can Get Notified About
General
- Bank account disconnected: Notifies you when a linked external bank account becomes disconnected and may need to be reconnected to continue transfers.
- Cards created: Alerts you when a new physical or virtual card is created for your account.
- Login: Notifies you when there’s a new login to your account, helping you monitor account access.
- Available spend below X: Triggers when your available balance or spend drops below a threshold you’ve set.
- New reimbursement request: Alerts you when a team member submits a reimbursement request for review or approval.
Funds Movement
- Failed ACH deposits
- Failed ACH withdrawals
- Incoming deposits: Notifies you when funds are successfully deposited into your account.
- Incoming transfers: Alerts you when money is received from another account or user.
- Outgoing transfers: Notifies you when money is sent out of your account, regardless of payment method.
- Cashback redemption transfers: Alerts you when cashback rewards are redeemed and transferred into your account.
- Transfer & approval requests: Notifies you when a transfer requires approval or when a request is submitted for review.
- Incoming crypto transfers
- Completed crypto transfers
- Held wire transfers: Alerts you when a wire transfer is placed on hold for review or requires additional action.
Purchases
- Transaction declined: Notifies you when a transaction is declined, which may require action (e.g., insufficient funds or card restrictions).
- Card authorization: Alerts you when a card is authorized for a purchase, including pending transactions.
- Transaction refunded
- Transaction reversed: Alerts you when a previously completed transaction is reversed, such as a cancellation or correction.
Setting Up a Low-Balance Alert
The "Available spend below" notification is one of the few with a configurable threshold. To set it up:
- Find Available spend below in the Account and Security section of your notification settings.
- Click Edit.
- Enter the dollar amount where you want the warning to trigger.
- Choose your delivery methods (email, push, webhook).
- Save your changes.
You'll receive an alert any time your available balance drops below that amount.
Troubleshooting
Push notifications not coming through?
This is almost always a permissions issue. Make sure the Slash app is allowed to send notifications in your device settings and that you haven't accidentally muted them.
Webhooks not firing?
Double-check that the webhook URL is correct and reachable, and that the webhook is toggled on for the specific notification type you're expecting.
