How to Send and Receive Wire Transfers With Slash
Last updated April 9, 2026
Overview
Wire transfers are a fast and secure way to send and receive funds, especially for large transactions or time-sensitive payments. Slash supports both domestic wire transfers within the United States and international wire transfers to bank accounts in other countries.
This article covers how to send and receive domestic (U.S.) wire transfers from your Slash account. For information on managing international wires (along with cross-border ACH and crypto), please read our guide 'Sending and Receiving International Payments with Slash.'
How to Send a Wire Transfer
Step 1: Navigate to Move Money
From your Slash dashboard, click Move Money in the left navigation menu, then select Send Money.

Step 2: Select or Enter the Recipient's Banking Details
If you've sent a payment to the recipient before, you can find his or her contact and banking info by typing in his or her name or company name in the 'Choose recipient' search bar.
If you're sending a wire to a new contact, then you'll need to input his or her banking details manually the first time. For domestic wires, you'll need:
- Recipient name
- Business or residential address
- Bank name
- Routing number (9 digits)
- Account number

Step 3: Select 'Wire Transfer' and Input Payment Details
On the next page, you'll see a dropdown menu that lets you select from several different payment methods. Choose 'Wire transfer.'
From there, ensure that the funds are coming from the correct payment source (if you have multiple subaccounts) and that they're going to the correct destination account (if the recipient has more than one). Then, just type in how much you'd like to send.

Step 4: Add a Memo or Description (Optional)
Before reviewing the payment, you can choose to add some accompanying text that describes what the payment is for.
Memos are for your records and will be saved along with the payment in your dashboard; they aren't shared with the recipient.
Descriptions are sent along with the payment as an accompanying email; descriptions are useful for adding invoice details, thank you notes, or any other details you'd like for the recipient to know.

Step 5: Review and Confirm
Review all transfer details including fees, your originating Slash account details, and recipient account details. Click Confirm to submit the wire transfer. Wire transfer usually process within the same business day.
Note: Wires submitted outside of Federal Reserve business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM ET, excluding federal holidays) will be processed on the next business day.

How to Receive a Wire Transfer
To receive a wire transfer into your Slash account, provide your Slash banking details to the sender.
Step 1: Access Your Account Details
From your Slash dashboard, navigate to your account or subaccount and click Account Details or View Account Info.
Step 2: Share Your Wire Details
For receiving wires, provide:
- Bank name: Column N.A.
- Bank address: 535 Mission Street, Suite 1847, San Francisco, CA 94105
- Routing number: Slash ABA routing number (found in Account Details)
- Account number: Choose the account or subaccount to which you want funds sent; locate the Account Details for that specific account.
- Beneficiary name: Your business name as it appears in Slash
To receive an international (SWIFT) wire, you will also need to include the Slash/Column N.A. SWIFT code: CLNOUS66XXX
Step 3: Monitor for the Incoming Transfer
Once the sender initiates the wire, you can track the status in your transaction history. Domestic wires typically appear within the same business day.
Additional Features and Considerations
Transfer Limits
Large wire transfers may be subject to additional review for compliance purposes. This is standard banking practice and doesn't indicate any issue with your account.
Delays and Cancellations
If your wire transfer is delayed or fails, here are some common troubleshooting steps:
- Check the recipient's banking details: Incorrect routing numbers, account numbers, or SWIFT codes are a common cause of failed wires.
- Verify sufficient funds: Ensure your subaccount has enough balance to cover the transfer amount plus any applicable fees.
- International wire delays: Some countries have additional compliance requirements that may cause delays. Wires to certain destinations may require manual review by our banking partner.
